Hyatt's Luxury Expansion: New Hotels & Leadership in 2026! (2025)

Hyatt Hotels Corporation is gearing up for a significant expansion in its luxury brand portfolio, with a focus on global growth and a renewed emphasis on luxury. The company has appointed Tamara Lohan as Global Brand Leader - Luxury, a move that signals a strategic shift towards a more robust luxury presence. Lohan's appointment comes on the heels of Hyatt's acquisition of Mr & Mrs Smith, a boutique and luxury hotel platform she co-founded and led for over two decades. This acquisition has given Hyatt a deeper understanding of the independent spirit and design integrity that define luxury, according to Lohan.

The company's luxury portfolio, which includes Park Hyatt, Alila, Miraval, Impression by Secrets, and The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, is set to expand in 2026. One of the highlights is the opening of Miraval The Red Sea, the brand's first resort outside the United States, located on Saudi Arabia's Shura Island. This resort will offer 180 guestrooms and suites, immersive wellbeing programming, and the largest spa in the Red Sea destination, marking a significant moment for luxury wellness in the EAME region.

Hyatt's expansion plans also include the reopening of Park Hyatt Tokyo and the introduction of Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol, Park Hyatt Cancun, Park Hyatt Mexico City, Park Hyatt Vancouver, and Park Hyatt Phu Quoc. Alila will strengthen its portfolio in Mexico with the opening of Alila Mayakoba, bringing refined, immersive luxury to Riviera Maya. The Unbound Collection by Hyatt will expand in EAME with Kennedy 89 in Frankfurt, Germany, and a new coastal experience in Nice, France.

These additions contribute to Hyatt's strong luxury chain scale pipeline of more than 170 hotels representing 141,000 rooms globally. The company's commitment to luxury is further underscored by its focus on personalization, global luxury trends, and consumer insights, ensuring that its luxury brands continue to differentiate themselves and grow with intent in the markets that matter most to its guests and owners.

Hyatt's luxury brand focus is a strategic move that aligns with the rising global demand for transformative travel, where nearly 50 percent of travelers define luxury as deeply personalized experiences. The company's leadership in luxury is expected to drive its global growth journey, setting new benchmarks in hospitality and maintaining its position as a leading global hospitality company.
